We acquired our first Portuguese Water Dog, Reba, in 2005. We absolutely fell in love with the breed. After living with her for about a year and a half, we decided we wanted to start showing. We found someone in our area that was willing to evaluate Reba for us. To our disappointment, she was not show quality. So, we started our search for another female show prospect. That is when we found Tesouros Shelby Menina Do Mar (Shelby). We started showing her in UKC shows and finished her before she was a year old. We then started showing Shelby in AKC.
We did alot of research before deciding to breed our first litter in 2009. We take pride in the Portuguese Water Dog and want to do our part in improving the breed. We want our dogs to not only have good health and good temperaments, but good structure also.
In order for our puppies to have the best chance in life, they are very well socialized starting the day they are born. All of our puppy buyer's must fill out one of our questionnaires before being considered for one of our puppies. We match our puppies personalities with our buyer's personalities and life styles.
